Job summary

Join Cleanaway at the Auburn Transfer Station as an Operator. This hands-on role requires heavy machinery experience to support essential waste operations.

You will operate forklifts, assist with load placement, move dry waste for compaction, and maintain safety and customer service standards in a dynamic environment. The position is full-time, afternoon shift (2PM start), with opportunities for weekend work.

Qualifications

• Possess Plant Operator tickets.
• Good mechanical aptitude and safety focus.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Willing to assist co-workers as required.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

Operator - Transfer Station

• Auburn NSW
• Afternoon Shift 2PM start – Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
• Full-time Permanent role

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled Operator to join our team at our Auburn Transfer Station.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone heavy machinery experience keen to contribute to essential waste operations that support the local environment. Some of the responsibilities are as below.

• Operate machinery (Forklift – essential; excavators and bulldozers – preferred or willing to learn)
• Assist drivers and the public with correct load placement
• Load and move dry waste for compaction and coverage
• Safely operate vehicles and equipment in line with procedures
• Assist with general housekeeping duties
• Maintain a professional image and always deliver high quality customer service
