Job summary

Whitehaven Coal Limited is seeking a CHPP Operator to join the Gunnedah CHPP team, supporting coal processing and loading for mining operations. You will operate and monitor the CHPP, train loading, and manage associated mobile plant equipment.

The role requires safety focus and teamwork, with a rotating 12.5‑hour day/night roster. We offer a full‑time permanent position, relocation or temporary accommodation support, competitive remuneration and extensive leave provisions.

About the Role

An opportunity is available for a CHPP Operator to join our team at the Gunnedah Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP), located just outside Gunnedah. The CHPP plays a critical role in processing and loading coal to support our mining operations.

What You'll Do

• Operate and monitor Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) and Train loading.
• Operate mobile plant, Wheel loaders and coal stockpile Dozers (Dozer skill desirable).

• Monitor plant performance and complete routine inspections
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and reporting equipment issues
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with site procedures

What You’ll Bring

• Experience operating CHPP/Train loading facilities and mobile plant equipment.
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

• Ability to work a rotating 2-3 even-time lifestyle roster consisting of 12.5-hour day and night shifts.

• CHPP, mining or heavy industry experience will be highly regarded
