Job summary

Daunia Mine, operated by Whitehaven Coal Limited in Queensland, seeks a CHPP Operator - Processing to run and maintain the Coal Handling & Preparation Plant safely and efficiently. You will work rotating day/night rosters, performing inspections, troubleshooting and routine maintenance in collaboration with site personnel.

Applicants should hold a Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade and bring prior production and maintenance experience on large process plants, with knowledge of CHPP

Qualifications

• Current Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
• Experience in large-scale processing plants and CHPP operations.
• Experience with complex plant isolations and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the CHPP to support safe, reliable plant performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CHPP equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults to minimize downtime.
• Maintain safety and mechanical standards and document maintenance records.

About The Role:

As a CHPP Operator - Processing at Daunia, you will operate and maintain the Coal Handling & Preparation Plant (CHPP), supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of mechanical systems. Working collaboratively with site personnel, you will contribute to achieving safety, production and performance targets. In this role you will be employed on a rotating day/night roster.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct CHPP production activities, inspections, machinery operation, troubleshooting and cleaning to maintain 5S standards.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CHPP equipment.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns to minimize plant downtime.
• Maintain compliance with site safety, health management and mechanical standards, including safe CHPP isolations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and monitor plant performance to optimize production and quality.

What You'll Bring:

• Current Certificate 3 in Engineering - Mechanical Trade. Welding experience will be an advantage.
• Prior production and maintenance experience within a large-scale process plant.
• Experience with complex process plant isolations to allow safe access for maintenance activities.
• Strong knowledge of mining equipment and CHPP maintenance standards and practices.
• Mobile machinery competencies across Dozer, Loader, Forklift, EWP, Franna and Skid Steer is desirable.
