Job summary

Campbelltown City Council is hiring Permanent or Casual Operative to maintain parks and open spaces. You’ll perform mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, and planting, with a hands-on role suitable for flexible, part- and full-time engagement.

We seek responsible applicants with MR Licence, White Card, solid WHS awareness, and strong communication skills for independent or small team work. Casual loading applies where relevant.

Qualifications

• Current Class MR Drivers Licence.
• Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
• High level awareness of Work, Health and Safety, environmental and risk identification aspects related to open space maintenance work.
• Demonstrated skills and experience of Urban Landscape maintenance including but not limited to mowing, edging, weeding, chemical spraying, litter collection, tree planting, tree/shrub pruning and asset inspections.
• Demonstrated experience in verbal and written communication skills including mobile technology devices.
• Demonstrated ability to work alone or in small autonomous teams.
• Commitment to living our values of respect, integrity, teamwork, trust and optimism.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, edging, weeding and maintaining parks and open spaces.
• Tree planting and pruning of trees and shrubs.
• Chemical spraying and litter collection as part of park maintenance.
• Asset inspections and use of mobile devices for communication.
• Ability to work alone or in small autonomous teams.

• $36.41- $39.40 per hour depending on skills and experience + 12% superannuation +25% casual loading where applicable
• Permanent Employees work a 4 day week!

Whether you're looking for some extra work, flexible hours, or employment during your University/TAFE break, you'll play a hands-on role in mowing, edging, weeding, tree planting, pruning, and maintaining our parks and open spaces.
