Job summary

Seqwater is seeking a qualified professional to join the Treatment Operations team at Hinze Dam, Gold Coast. This permanent full-time role requires a minimum Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and extensive water treatment plant experience.

38-hour week with potential weekend/public holiday shifts; salary range listed with superannuation. You will provide technical guidance on procedures, work instructions, audits and SOPs, while standardising competency and training needs and

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
• Extensive experience in operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, preferably complex.
• Understanding of delivering projects and work packages.
• Strong WH&S, environmental and water quality knowledge for plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support Treatment Operations on procedures, workflows, audits, LOTO isolation instructions, optimisation and investigations.
• Develop and update Operator training needs analysis.
• Standardise Operator competency process.
• Rationalise operational work orders.
• Standardise operational checklists.
• Represent Treatment Operations in Seqwater's QA programs including audits, improvements and reporting.
• Lead and train others in the application of new systems or processes.

About Your Opportunity

You will provide your expertise and input into operational documentation, including the development and review of procedures, work instructions and SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support and guide the Treatment Operations team with regards to controlled documents, procedures, work instructions, workflows, audits, LOTO isolation instructions, optimisation and investigations.
• Develop, improve and update Operator training needs analysis
• Standardise Operator competency process
• Rationalise operational work orders
• Standardise operational checklists
• Represent Treatment Operations with Seqwater's internal and external quality assurance programs including audits, improvements and reporting.
• Ability to lead and train others in the application of new systems or processes.

Hours and Locations

The ordinary hours for this role are 38 hours per week, working a Monday to Friday pattern. Some shift work coverage may be required at times that may include weekends and Public Holidays (shift allowances apply). This position will be based within our Southern Operations Region, primarily at our Hinze Dam offices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A minimum of a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
• Demonstrated extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of Water Treatment Plants - preferably complex plants that include the use of modern technologies, principles and processes.
• Sound knowledge and/or experience of the principles and processes involved in managing the successful delivery of projects and work packages.
• High level of understanding of WH&S, Environmental Protection and Water Quality requirements relevant to water treatment plant operations.
• High level of computer literacy for SCADA system, reporting and maintaining records related to treatment operations and operational maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of procedures, technical documents and performance reports.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a salary range of $102,738.63 to $120,527.00, plus 12.75% superannuation.
