Job description

Water is essential for life. At Seqwater, we are not just delivering water-we're driving innovation, growth and transformation to secure the future of water across South-East Queensland.

As one of the largest water businesses with the most geographically spread and diverse asset base of any capital city in Australia, our operations extend from the New South Wales border to the base of the Toowoomba ranges and north to Gympie.

As we enter an exciting period of expansion, we're embracing new technologies and sustainable practices to meet the growing needs of our region. We work collaboratively across our organisation and with our stakeholders, constantly striving to enhance the quality of service we provide. As we modernise our systems and invest in smarter water grids, we remain focused on delivering the highest standard of service, always with the future in mind.

Our transformation is about more than just infrastructure—it’s about people. Our team of dedicated professionals are united by a shared passion for creating lasting, meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve, and this is reflected in Our Vision, Water for Life, Our Promise, Safe for Life, and Our Values of integrity, respect, care, and courage that shape everything we do.

About Your Opportunity

As Lead Performance - Treatment & Supply, you will lead our Reliability Engineering and Performance Analytics teams, reporting to the Manager Performance Treatment & Supply. You will be the trusted, independent voice on how Seqwater’s treatment and supply assets are performing across a complex, highly regulated 24/7 network. You will identify performance gaps early and act on them before they escalation, and drive continuous improvement that optimises asset reliability, safety and service for our customers and community. This is a hybrid role, with time split between the office and our sites throughout South-East Queensland.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead performance evaluation of treatment and supply assets, identifying trends, failures, constraints and opportunities to improve reliability, safety and operational performance.
  • Provide independent performance, risk and reliability advice to planning, operations and maintenance teams, ensuring objective performance assurance across the business.
  • Oversee root cause investigations and performance analysis, translating data and asset health insights into actionable business improvements and corrective actions.
  • Align reliability strategies with performance outcomes, ensuring failure modes are linked to performance losses and reliability insights feed performance improvement plans.
  • Deliver performance reporting, insights and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders, supporting informed decision-making and integrated planning.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering capability, accountability, collaboration and a strong safety and wellbeing culture.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across Seqwater and external partners, working with our System Improvement function to develop and implement performance improvement initiatives that support strategic objectives.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline (mandatory).
  • Significant experience leading technical teams within a complex infrastructure, utilities or asset-intensive environment.
  • Strong capability in performance analysis, data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop multidisciplinary technical teams while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and project management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across operational and strategic functions.
  • A current Class C driver licence and willingness to travel to sites across South-East Queensland.

This role also offers a clear career pathway into senior analyst and leadership roles in asset performance.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a competitive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation.

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.
