Job summary

Seqwater is a Queensland Government Bulk Water Supply Authority, delivering safe, secure and cost-effective bulk water supply for over 3 million people across Southeast Queensland. The role is based in the Southern Operations Region at Hinze Dam and focuses on developing and reviewing procedures and SOPs to support treatment operations.

The successful candidate will apply WH&S, water quality and SCADA literacy to maintain high standards in operation and maintenance of water treatment plants,

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations is required.
• Experience operating and maintaining water treatment plants, preferably complex ones.
• Understanding of project delivery and work packages.
• Good computer literacy for SCADA, reporting and records.
• Knowledge of WH&S and environmental protection in water operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support Treatment Operations with procedures, work instructions and audits.
• Develop and update Operator training needs analysis.
• Rationalise operational work orders and standardise checklists.
• Represent Treatment Operations in QA programs and audits.
• Lead and train others in new systems or processes.

About Your Opportunity

You will provide your expertise and input into operational documentation, including the development and review of procedures, work instructions and SOPs.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise to support and guide the Treatment Operations team with regards to controlled documents, procedures, work instructions, workflows, audits, LOTO isolation instructions, optimisation and investigations.
• Develop, improve and update Operator training needs analysis
• Rationalise operational work orders
• Standardise operational checklists
• Represent Treatment Operations with Seqwater's internal and external quality assurance programs including audits, improvements and reporting.
• Ability to lead and train others in the application of new systems or processes.

Hours and Locations

The ordinary hours for this role are 38 hours per week, working a Monday to Friday pattern. Some shift work coverage may be required at times that may include weekends and Public Holidays (shift allowances apply).This position will be based within our Southern Operations Region, primarily at our Hinze Dam offices.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A minimum of a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
• Demonstrated extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of Water Treatment Plants - preferably complex plants that include the use of modern technologies, principles and processes.
• Sound knowledge and/or experience of the principles and processes involved in managing the successful delivery of projects and work packages.
• High level of understanding of WH&S, Environmental Protection and Water Quality requirements relevant to water treatment plant operations.
• High level of computer literacy for SCADA system, reporting and maintaining records related to treatment operations and operational maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of procedures, technical documents and performance reports.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a salary range of $102,738.63 to $120,527.00, plus 12.75% superannuation.
