Job summary

Queensland Government on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Operations Officer (AO4) to support delivery of connected communities and a sustainable Queensland. You will work across frontline service delivery, policy advice and regulatory oversight to help keep services running smoothly.

The role focuses on investigating complaints, coordinating school transport (STAS) and ensuring governance through data systems, with a temporary full-time appointment from 12 October 2026 to 10 September 2027.

Responsibilities

• Deliver frontline customer service, investigate and resolve difficult complaints, and assist with ministerials and other correspondence.
• Provide advice to industry and stakeholders on legislation, policy and operational delivery.
• Monitor data systems to ensure accountability and sound governance.
• Coordinate, administer and supervise specialised school transport and the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS).
• Assess and process regulatory matters relating to Driver Authorisation and Operator Accreditation under legislation and delegated authority.
• Assist with monitoring performance under service contracts with emphasis on compliance and operational delivery.
