Adelaide East Day Hospital | Full-Time Healthcare Operations Opportunity
Lead operations. Build reliable systems. Help shape an exceptional patient and staff experience.
Adelaide East Day Hospital (AEDH) is a new-build private day hospital and a new healthcare service in its establishment phase. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help take the hospital through operational readiness, service commencement and sustainable growth.
The opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager / Director of Nursing (GM/DON), the Operations Manager will coordinate AEDH's non-clinical operational, administrative, commercial, facility and governance-support functions. This is a hands‑on role for an organised, responsive leader who takes ownership, supports clinical service delivery and follows issues through to completion.
Joining at this formative stage, you will have genuine scope to shape the hospital's administrative services, systems and operating disciplines - from patient bookings, billing and theatre scheduling to quality systems, facilities, suppliers and business support.
Your focus will include:
leading day-to-day non-clinical operations and the Administration Team, including patient bookings, admissions, practitioner liaison and theatre scheduling in partnership with the GM/DON;
overseeing billing, health-fund claims, debtors and financial administration, together with IT, facilities, maintenance, contractors, suppliers and procurement;
administering LogiQC (QMS), document control, NSQHS accreditation evidence, audits, complaints, risk registers and action tracking; and
coordinating governance, credentialling and committee administration while ensuring clinical decisions and professional responsibilities remain with the GM/DON and authorised clinicians.
About you
You will be an experienced healthcare operations or administration leader with substantial experience in a hospital, medical practice or comparable healthcare environment. You combine strong people leadership, commercial and financial awareness, digital confidence and disciplined follow-through.
A current or previous nursing or clinical background, including experience as an RN, EEN or other health professional within a hospital or day-hospital environment, would be highly advantageous, providing valuable insight into clinical workflow, patient care and the operational needs of a clinical service; however, this is not essential and does not form part of the role’s clinical authority.
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:
Why AEDH?
This is a rare opportunity to influence a new organisation from its earliest stage. You will help create the administrative systems, operational disciplines and service culture that will define AEDH - building a hospital where people are proud to work and patients receive safe, efficient and personal care.
For the right person, the role offers breadth, autonomy and the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to AEDH's systems, culture, performance and future direction.
