Job summary

IKEA is seeking an Operations Manager (Fulfilment & Logistics) in Canberra to lead a large operational team, ensuring accurate picking, efficient delivery, and a seamless customer experience across in-store, pickup, and home delivery channels.

You will drive performance, engagement, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on people, processes, and cost-consciousness. National police checks are part of the pre-employment process.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day Fulfilment Operations team to secure operational excellence across inbound, outbound and service operations while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
• Coach and develop your team, fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture focused on wellbeing and performance.
• Drive engagement and morale by promoting open communication and recognizing achievements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and external transport/service providers to maximise goods availability and order fulfilment efficiency.
• Use data and KPIs to identify opportunities to simplify operations, boost productivity and strengthen team performance.
• Manage resources and expenses to maximise efficiency and profitability in fulfilment operations.

About this role

• This role is Permanent, Full-time 76hrs/fortnight
• Reporting line - Fulfilment Manager.
• Internal job title - Fulfilment Operations Manager.
• This role requires availability to work a range of hours from 4am – 9pm weekdays, alternating weekends and public holidays where required.
• As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check, including a National Police Check for final candidates.

• Demonstrate a commitment to cost-consciousness, effectively managing resources and operational expenses to maximise efficiency and drive profitability in fulfilment operations.
• Ensure compliance with IKEA code of conduct, Standard Operating Procedures, internal regulations, and local legislation related to health, safety & security within the department.
