Job summary

IKEA Gruppe in Queensland North Lakes is seeking a proactive Sales Team Leader to drive store performance and deliver outstanding customer experiences. You will lead a team on the shop floor, maintain merchandise standards, and ensure the store presents a compelling range that meets local needs.

The role requires coaching and performance management, a data-informed approach to sales, and the ability to work a rotating roster across day and evening shifts, including weekends, in a dynamic home

Additional Information
  • This role is permanent, full-time, 76hrs/fortnight.
  • This role will be managing cooking and eating, textiles and bathrooms departments.
  • As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work alternating weekend shifts (both Saturday and Sunday).
About this work area

As Sales Team Leader your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive sales growth by understanding our customers’ needs, analysing the local market, and monitoring competition to prioritise products and services that enhance profitability.
  • Drives sales by ensuring co-workers have the right growth mindset, up-to-date knowledge of product range & services and home furnishing expertise to actively sell and meet customers' overall expectations on shopping experience.
  • Ensure the shop is in excellent shape as new and always fully and efficiently stocked and that the IKEA product range is presented in ways that inspire and satisfy customers in every touch points.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the sales floor team in order to secure a consistent range presentation and customer shopping experience through ensuring a flexible, competent, and knowledgeable team.
  • Responsible for execution of central solution and ways of working as well as development and constant improvement of local ways of working and internal service agreements.
  • Consistently analysing sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to streamline processes and drive business results.
As Sales Team Leader you are or have:
  • Enthusiastic about home furnishings and customer-focused, using the right attitude and behaviours to actively drive sales and assist customers in their buying decisions.
  • Skilled in understanding customer behaviour and effectively applying this knowledge to influence sales and service strategies.
  • Committed to developing co-workers by managing performance, providing coaching, and building a strong talent pipeline for future leadership roles.
  • Continuously proactive in seeking ways to simplify processes and reduce unnecessary negative costs to the business.
  • Driven to thrive in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment where you are relentless about delivering the best outcomes for co-workers, customers and the business.
