Job summary

Robit Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an Operations Manager to lead safe, compliant and profitable delivery of mining operations across Australia. You will own inventory management, warehousing, logistics and site service delivery, driving cost per metre efficiency and strong customer relationships.

You will lead a high performing, geographically dispersed team, ensure WHS compliance and environmental standards, and travel regularly to mine sites to optimise contracts, performance and margin.

Job description

The Operations Manager is accountable for the safe, compliant and profitable delivery of Robit Australia's operations, including inventory management, warehousing, logistics, site service delivery and safety. The role combines commercial ownership of cost per metre (CPM) and contracted customer relationships with day to day operational leadership. The Operations Manager is expected to grow revenue and margin within existing contracts through technical optimisation and service excellence, to ensure the right product reaches the right site at the right time, and to lead a high performing operational team that works to a zero harm standard.

Key responsibilities

• Grow sales within existing cost per metre and contracted customers across Australia, identifying opportunities to expand product range, scope and service
• Build and maintain long term customer relationships, acting as the primary operational point of contact for contracted sites
• Conduct and document quarterly optimisation reviews on every contract, using drilling performance data, consumption analysis and technical recommendations to improve customer outcomes and Robit margin
• Develop and implement operational strategies and objectives that support the achievement of company goals and profitability targets
• Oversee daily operations across inventory, warehousing, logistics, distribution and site service delivery
• Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in full and on time, managing demand forecasting, stock holding and replenishment
• Ensure all activities comply with applicable work health and safety legislation, mine site requirements, dangerous goods regulations and environmental standards
• Lead, motivate and develop a high performing operational team, ensuring effective training, coaching and performance management
• Prepare operational performance reports per customer and present them to the Executive Committee monthly
• Provide accurate data on consumption, metres drilled, product performance and cost to support contract profitability analysis

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline; equivalent trade and industry experience will be considered
• Proven experience in mining operations, drilling services or industrial supply chain management, with a demonstrated track record of delivering commercial and operational results
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian mining regulations, work health and safety standards and environmental legislation
• Demonstrated experience managing inventory, warehousing and logistics across multiple locations
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse and geographically dispersed team
• Excellent problem solving, decision making and analytical skills, with confidence interpreting operational and financial data
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from site crews to executive committee
• Current Australian driver's licence and the ability to obtain and maintain mine site access, including pre-employment and ongoing medical and drug and alcohol testing
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to mine sites across Australia, including underground operations
