Job summary

Glencore's Rolleston Open Cut in Central Queensland is seeking a Multiskilled Operator to join the Production team and operate heavy earthmoving equipment safely to meet production targets, reporting to the Mining Supervisor.

The role requires open cut mining experience, leadership and teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety. We offer a 7/7 day/night roster, competitive remuneration, housing assistance and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day. About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Multiskilled Operator to join the dynamic and successful Production team at Rolleston Open Cut. As a valued member of the Production team and reporting directly to the Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Providing safe and efficient operations of heavy earthmoving equipment
• Working collaboratively to achieve mine production targets and organisational objectives.
• Completing operational and maintenance records accurately and maintaining the integrity of site systems and data.
• Liaise with key personnel and share ideas for overall improvement outcomes
• Identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Demonstrating a strong commitment to Glencore's safety standards, operational excellence and site values.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience and competencies operating large mining equipment.
• Previous experience working in an open cut mining environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Developed understanding of risk management and safe work procedures.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications and competencies applicable to the role.
