Mader Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Road Transport division in Western Australia. The role focuses on delivering services to clients, maintaining safety and quality, and driving growth across the region.

You will oversee a 130+ field workforce, manage recruitment, and partner with senior leadership on strategic planning. The position is based at Mader HQ in Applecross with standard weekday hours.

About the Job:

Due to continued growth within our Road Transport division, Mader Group is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead our operations across WA.

Location: Mader HQ -based in Applecross with free onsite parking.

Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00am - 4:00pm.

Key responsibilities will include:

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Road Transport division, ensuring service delivery meets client expectations and business objectives.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as the primary point of contact for operational matters and workforce requirements.

Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the division through existing partnerships and new business development initiatives.

Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management to a team of 130+ field employees, fostering a high-performance and safety-focused culture.

Oversee workforce planning, mobilisation, and resource allocation to ensure labour demands are met efficiently and effectively.

Drive recruitment activities including workforce forecasting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention strategies.

Monitor operational performance, workforce utilisation, and financial outcomes to ensure divisional targets are achieved.

Ensure employee rosters, compliance requirements, and mobilisation processes are maintained accurately and efficiently.

Conduct regular client visits and employee engagement activities to strengthen relationships and maintain workforce satisfaction.

Champion Mader's safety culture through visible leadership, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Prepare, review, and approve quotations, ensuring commercial viability and exceptional customer service.

Collaborate with senior leadership to support strategic planning, business growth, and operational excellence across the region.

Skills and experience required:

Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (Road Transport / Heavy Vehicle).

Demonstrated experience managing operational teams within mining, road transport, or heavy industry environments.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage large workforces.

Strong commercial acumen with experience managing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.

A track record of delivering operational outcomes while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skill
