Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-start and toolbox meetings both onsite and in the workshop.
• Complete project safety risk analyses and coordinate Safety Management Plans, SWMSs & JHAs.
• Manage contracts with clients and supply chain, and coordinate project documentation.
• Recruitment labour and induct new workshop staff; mentor technical skill development.

Scope Engineering (WA) Pty Ltd, estabilished in 2006, is a quality-driven Western Australian owned company based in the Australian Marine Complex (AMC), Henderson W.A.

Scope Engineering has extensive experience in the Oil and Gas, Marine and Mining sectors. Delivering a range of services in design, fabrication, machining, as well as repair, refurbishment, fitting and servicing of heavy machinery and equipment. About the role

Oversee the project managers, project engineers, workshop and site staff to deliver end-to-end successful projects. Driving the safety, quality, efficiency and profitability across all aspects of the business. Identify process optimisation, automation, and technology integration opportunities to streamline operations and enhance productivity. With good commercial acumen manage the processes for job planning, job delegation, resource planning and delegation, procurement & timekeeping.

Key responsibilities

Foster a safe, positive and enthusiastic workplace culture by embedding Scope's values in all tasks and responsibilities.

Coordinate and perform HSEQ checks and audits in the workshop & onsite.

Coordination of the effective pre-start and toolbox meetings, both onsite & in the workshop.

Complete project safety risk analysis when identified, including coordination of Project Safety Management Plans, SWMSs & JHAs.

Follow-up reported or identified safety, environmental & quality issues.

Evaluation of tenders post award.

Managing the contracts (both with clients and the supply chain).

Manage the process for completing project documentation and ensure that processes are adhered to and compliant with Scope Engineering processes, legislation, standards and client specifications i.e. Inspection Test Plans hold points, As-Built Drawings, MDRs etc.

Manage the recruitment labour & manage the process for inducting new workshop staff.

Manage the training plans and mentoring of technical skills development with the project managers and workshop staff.

Skills and experience

Minimum of 5 years previous experience in leadership roles.

Ability to demonstrate good commercial acumen in contract negotiation, understanding of terms & conditions, with both supply chain and clients.

Must have experience in fabrication and welding.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and standards.

Ability to demonstrate high level of flexibility and planning/managing available resources against changing and competing demands.

Excellent problem solver and critical thinker.

Effective communicator, including excellent computer literacy.

Ability to build and maintain business relationships with new and existing clients & suppliers.
