Job summary

Dynamic Diesel Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day labour hire operations, supplying skilled trades and personnel to clients across the Australian mining industry.

You will own workforce delivery from client request through recruitment, mobilisation, placement and ongoing employee management, working with HR and administration teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in labour hire, recruitment, mining operations or workforce management.
• Strong knowledge of Australian mining and resources sector.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and client relationships.

Dynamic Diesel Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of our labour hire operations, supplying skilled trades and personnel to clients across the Australian mining industry.

With more than 20 years' experience supporting the mining and resources sector, we specialise in providing skilled workforce solutions across FIFO/DIDO/BIBO and site-based operations. This role is suited to someone who understands the fast-paced nature of mining and can confidently manage clients, employees, recruitment pipelines, mobilisation and operational performance.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of workforce delivery from initial client request through to recruitment, mobilisation, placement and ongoing employee management.

You will work closely with our recruitment, HR and administration teams while maintaining strong relationships with mining clients, site contacts and employees.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage day-to-day labour hire operations and workforce requirements.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing mining clients.

• Develop new business opportunities and increase workforce numbers across key accounts.

• Manage incoming labour requests and ensure vacancies are filled within required timeframes.

• Oversee recruitment pipelines, candidate screening, submissions and placements.

• Maintain regular communication with employees throughout their assignments.

• Manage employee performance, attendance, retention and site-related matters.

• Work closely with clients to forecast upcoming workforce requirements.

• Monitor workforce numbers, mobilisation progress, fallovers and vacancies.

• Ensure accurate information and activity is maintained within JobAdder and relevant client portals.

• Work with HR and management to ensure compliance with company and client requirements.

• Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular performance reporting to management.

• Identify opportunities to improve recruitment, mobilisation and workforce retention processes.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, organised and highly proactive. You will need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on client service and workforce delivery.

Essential Requirments:

• At least 3 years previous experience in labour hire, recruitment, mining operations or workforce management.

• Strong knowledge of the Australian mining and resources sector.

• Hold a trade certificate as a Diesel Mechanic or similar trade.

• Experience managing FIFO workforces and mining mobilisation processes.

• A good understanding of mining inductions, medicals, training and compliance requirements.

• Strong client relationship and business development skills.

• Experience managing recruiters, coordinators or operational teams.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

• Experience using recruitment/CRM systems; JobAdder experience would be highly regarded.

• Confidence working with client procurement, mobilisation and contractor management systems.
