Job summary

Georges River Council seeking an Operations Leader - Service Delivery (Civil) to supervise a maintenance crew across the Georges River Local Government Area. You will coordinate daily activities, prioritise workloads and manage labour, plant and materials to deliver safe, high-quality civil maintenance work.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position with 76 hours per fortnight, a four-day working week, and salary from 72,987.47 to 84,562.01 plus 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

  • Class C Drivers Licence required.
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card) required.
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and leading a maintenance crew.
  • Experience in providing maintenance services and accountability for work methods, standards and outcomes.
  • Capacity to plan, prioritise and organise daily work schedules.
  • Experience in operation/maintenance of plant and/or equipment common to cleansing, civil construction and/or trades maintenance.
  • Understanding of WHS practices and EEO principles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Appropriate written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a maintenance crew delivering civil/public domain maintenance services.
  • Coordinate daily activities, prioritise workloads and manage labour, plant, equipment and materials.
  • Ensure work is conducted safely, to a high standard and in compliance with WHS requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders; provide on-the-job guidance and support.

About the role

As Operations Leader - Service Delivery (Civil), you'll take a hands-on leadership role supervising a maintenance crew responsible for delivering essential civil and public domain maintenance services across the Georges River Local Government Area. You'll coordinate daily activities, prioritise workloads and ensure labour, plant, equipment and materials are effectively managed to deliver works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You'll lead and support your crew to achieve strong safety, customer service and operational outcomes, while monitoring work quality and team performance. You'll provide guidance and on-the-job support, ensure compliance with WHS requirements and safe work practices, and build positive relationships with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will have
  • Class C Drivers Licence

  • Experience in providing maintenance services and a demonstrated ability to be accountable for agreed work methods, standard and outcome
  • Capacity to plan, prioritise and organise daily work schedules.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of plant and/or various equipment common to cleansing, civil construction and/or trades maintenance.
  • Understanding of and commitment to WHS practices and EEO principles
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Appropriate written and oral communication skills
