Job summary

REMONDIS Australia Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a senior leader to oversee St Marys operations, combining strategic direction with hands-on leadership. You will build a high-performing team, drive safety, productivity and profitability, and strengthen customer relationships across daily collection and transport activities.

You will coach drivers and supervisors, optimise routes and scheduling, and manage costs to deliver measurable improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading logistics or transport operations in a fast-paced operational environment.
• A strong background in heavy vehicles, fleet management or transport logistics.
• A hands-on leadership style, with experience leading drivers and supervisors through clear expectations, coaching and accountability.
• Experience in the waste industry or environmental services is highly regarded. Strong understanding of route optimisation and scheduling.
• Commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, controlling costs and improving operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, reliable operations: Oversee daily collection and transport activities, ensuring services meet safety, compliance and customer requirements.
• Build a high-performing team: Coach and develop drivers and supervisors, strengthen accountability and address performance issues constructively.
• Improve productivity: Optimise routes, scheduling and resource allocation to improve fleet utilisation and service efficiency.
• Deliver commercial results: Take ownership of operational financial performance, manage costs and implement improvements that strengthen profitability.
• Coordinate fleet availability: Work closely with the workshop and maintenance teams to support vehicle reliability and minimise downtime.
• Strengthen customer relationships: Work with customers and internal teams to resolve service issues and maintain consistent service standards.
• Drive continuous improvement: Use operational data and frontline feedback to identify issues, implement changes and track results.
