Job summary

ING is seeking a Data and Insights Analyst – Operations in Sydney to turn complex operational data into actionable insights that improve customer, risk and business decisions. You will work across analytics, automation and emerging AI solutions, partnering with stakeholders to deliver measurable impact.

You’ll build dashboards, automate workflows and contribute to AI-enabled projects within a banking context, ensuring data governance and responsible AI usage across the analytics lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in analytics, data, automation or Digital solutions, ideally in banking or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear business context.
• Strong data governance and data quality understanding.
• Experience with Power BI and Tableau for modeling, reporting and storytelling.
• Experience with AI tools (Copilot/Azure AI) and responsible governance.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex customer data and translate findings into practical recommendations for operational, customer and risk decisions.
• Partner with business stakeholders to clarify questions and desired outcomes.
• Develop reporting, dashboards and analytical solutions to understand customer behavior and operational performance.
• Use SQL and SAS to extract, transform and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Support prototyping and development of AI-enabled solutions in a banking context, with governance.
• Apply Copilot and related AI tools responsibly balancing innovation with governance.
