Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) seeks an Operational Leadership Capability and Training Officer to design, coordinate and continuously improve leadership development across Victoria's emergency management and forest operations. You will work with senior officers to ensure programs are practical, aligned to capability needs and responsive to regions.

This fixed-term role offers hybrid work within Victoria and the chance to build coaching, mentoring and evaluation

Qualifications

• Experience designing and evaluating leadership development programs.
• Ability to translate capability needs into practical development solutions.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of emergency management or public sector capability development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of leadership training products.
• Develop state-wide frameworks, tools and guidance for capability building.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and delivery across regions with stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain coaching and mentoring programs with governance and evaluation.
• Build partnerships with leaders and SMEs to keep programs practical and current.
• Monitor and report on participation, quality and outcomes.
• Ensure training records meet governance and RTO obligations.
• Promote cultural safety and inclusive participation.
