Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking a Program Officer to support the statewide Operational Forest Management Program. You will work with regional teams to ensure forest management is delivered consistently, effectively and transparently, underpinning the health and sustainability of Victoria’s state forests.

You’ll contribute to program governance, performance monitoring and reporting, providing advice to decision-makers while collaborating with program

Qualifications

• An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management, project management or approved equivalent is desirable.
• Technical expertise in application of the PAF for fuel break construction or technical expertise in forest programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the centre of program governance, performance monitoring and reporting.
• Provide high-quality advice and support decision-making on public land management activities.
• Coordinate statewide priorities with program managers, regional staff and stakeholders.
