Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) in Victoria seeks a Forest and Fire Operations Officer – Technical Lead to manage work groups and oversee operational tasks and fire prevention across state forests, national parks, and protected public land.

Role involves coordinating field operations, ensuring effective output of workcentres, and potential deployment statewide for emergency response and planned burning activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge or experience in bushfire response or forest operations is highly desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in natural resource management, preferably with forest management and forest operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage work groups and oversee operational tasks and fire prevention activities in Victoria’s state forests, national parks and protected public land.
• Drive ongoing effectiveness and output of workcentres to support environmental preservation and public safety.
• Be prepared for potential deployment across the state, supporting emergency response and planned burning operations.
