Job summary

Genesis Minerals in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Open Pit Training Advisor to deliver practical, site‑specific training for our surface mining teams. You will build capability, coach operators and partners in safety and efficiency during a critical project start‑up phase.

The role requires a Cert IV in Training & Assessment, solid WHS knowledge, and hands‑on experience with training software.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Open Pit Training Advisor with mining experience.
• Cert IV in Training & Assessment required or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and training methods.
• Experience delivering training to varied group sizes on mine sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead practical, high-value training onsite – site inductions and machine competency.
• Deliver technical training and ensure contractor and employee compliance.
• Design and implement training procedures to lift operational capability.
• Ensure training aligns with WA Legislation and National Standards.
• Maintain training records and analyze data to guide development.
• Collaborate with leaders to identify skill gaps and growth paths.
• Coordinate RTOs and vendors for licences and compliance training.
• Monitor WHS and training data to identify trends and improvements.
• Support incident investigations and safety initiatives.
• Participate in inspections and toolbox talks to maintain awareness.
