Job summary

Genesis Minerals in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Open Pit Training Advisor to lead practical, on-site training for surface mining teams. You will design and deliver high-value programs, ensure contractor and employee compliance, and align training with WA legislation and national standards to lift operational capability.

You’ll collaborate with site leaders to identify skill gaps, coordinate RTOs and vendors for licences, and maintain training records while supporting safety

Qualifications

• Open Pit Training Advisor experience in mining preferred.
• Proven ability to deliver practical training to varied group sizes.
• Strong understanding of adult learning and practical mine-floor application.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation and safe operating practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead practical, high-value training onsite – VOCs, site-specific courses, machine competency development and inductions.
• Deliver technical training across surface mining departments and ensure compliance.
• Design and implement training procedures to lift operational capability across teams.
• Coordinate RTOs and vendors for high-risk licences, first aid and compliance training.
• Monitor WHS and training data to identify trends and opportunities.
