Job summary

PERSAS in Rutherford, NSW is seeking an on-site Trades Assistant to support our Technicians with inspections, testing and servicing of tooling and equipment at customer sites and in the workshop.

The role includes up to 7–10 days per month travelling to Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Ulan, Gunnedah and Narrabri. You will work a 38-hour, 4-day week with Fridays off, and perform minor repairs while ensuring safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude around small tools and engines.
• Safety-first mindset and adherence to WHS rules.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving to diagnose and fix technical issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tablet use.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interval inspection of tooling and equipment for safety and compliance.
• Test tooling and equipment using specialised equipment in onsite test trucks.
• Record equipment data and test results in the asset management system.
• Communicate clearly with site staff about failures and compliance.
• Make minor repairs to onsite equipment per OEM guidelines.
• Record and monitor inventory usage onsite.
• Follow WHS procedures and site/workshop rules.
