Job summary

Yarrabee Coal Company, based near Blackwater, Queensland, is offering a Mechanical Apprentice (Fitter) role at the Yarrabee Coal Mine. You will train on-site under a Field Officer from MRAEL, gain hands-on experience, and progress through your Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade while contributing to safe plant maintenance.

The program emphasises safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, with mentoring and on-site support from experienced Maintenance leaders and training staff.

Qualifications

• Completed or currently completing year 12 as a minimum.
• Current Manual Driver's licence.
• Ability to pass Yarrabee pre-employment assessments.
• Knowledge of Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and regulations would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support and complete on-site mechanical training as a Fitter Apprentice.
• Work under the Field Officer from MRAEL with regular mentoring and progression reviews.
• Contribute to safe maintenance of plant and machinery at the mine site.
