Yarrabee Coal Company, based near Blackwater, Queensland, invites applications for an Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team. You will work on-site at Yarrabee Coal Mine and progress under a Field Officer from MRAEL who will mentor you through your trade.

This apprenticeship offers structured learning, safety training, and real hands-on experience across plant and machinery maintenance, with support from maintenance leaders and our Training department to ensure you progress and stay

Formación

• Must have completed or be completing year 12.
• Current manual driver's licence required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment assessments.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
• Eligible to work in Australia.

Responsabilidades

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are now recruiting for Electrical Apprentice to work onsite at Yarrabee Coal Mine.

As a Yarrabee apprentice you will be appointed a Field Officer from MRAEL who will guide you through your trade, making sure every aspect of your training experience is rewarding and professional. The Field Officer provides you with consistent mentoring, support and performance management throughout your apprenticeship while ensuring you progress through your training and will coordinate block bookings when necessary. The Field Officer will have regular meetings to discuss your progression and any challenges you may have. You will also be supported by our Maintenance leaders and Training department on site.

Skills and Experience

Skills

• Sound communication skills
• Basic computer skills, word processing
• Completed or completing year 12 as a minimum
• Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required
• Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues

Knowledge

• Ability to learn individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations

Experience

• Previous experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment will be looked upon favourably (work experience)
• Prevocational courses will be acknowledged

Qualifications

• Current Manual Driver's licence
• Ability to pass Yarrabee pre-employment assessments

Important Information

• Literacy and Numeracy - Pre Employment Assessment
• Mechanical Reasoning - Pre Employment Assessment

The successful candidates will be required to undergo and pass a medical examination (Coal Board Medical), Chest X-Ray, a drug and alcohol test, and a pre-functional assessment.
