Job summary

Programmed Maintenance Services in Singleton NSW, in partnership with Yancoal, is offering a four-year Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship starting January 2027 at Mount Thorley Warkworth mine.

Based at MTW, you'll gain hands-on experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, learning from experienced tradespeople in a safety-focused environment.

This apprenticeship provides formal training, a trade qualification, and ongoing mentoring within the mining sector.

Qualifications

• Must be Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• Must reside within one hour drive of Mount Thorley Warkworth mine.
• Must hold a current driver license or plan to obtain one within 12 months.
• Recent school leavers must upload their two most recent school reports.
• Shortlisted candidates must complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance, servicing and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
• Work with mechanical components, tools and equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Develop understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices.
