Job summary

The Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) is seeking a Centre Support Coordinator to supervise the Centre Support Volunteers and ensure seamless day-to-day operations at Newtown. This short-term backfill role requires strong onsite presence and hands-on coordination to maintain client care and responses across the front-line team.

• Sector experience in community services, social care, or human services.
• Ability to be onsite Monday to Friday 10am–4pm.
• Operational agility to adapt quickly and keep operations running.
• Strong communication and staff support under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide active onsite leadership to the Centre Support Volunteer team on-site daily.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and service delivery of the Centre Support Program to ensure client care remains safe, consistent, and compliant.
• Handle immediate operational issues, risk escalations, and team questions with professional judgment and clear boundaries.
• Maintain a supportive environment for staff navigating complex, face-to-face client needs.
• Escalate to the People & Culture Manager for all operational issues and risks.
