Job summary

The BUSY School Online (TBSO) seeks a dedicated Student Support Officer to help students thrive in education and life within an online learning setting. You will build trusted relationships with young people, support their wellbeing and engagement, and help overcome barriers to education, working closely with students, teachers and support staff to promote attendance and participation.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth support, education, community services, wellbeing, counselling or related field.
• Genuine passion for helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong administrative and data management skills.
• Experience supporting young people facing barriers is highly regarded.
• Current Working with Children Check or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support student attendance, engagement and participation during online lessons.
• Assist onboarding and successful participation in online learning.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and caregivers.
• Collaborate with teachers, learning support and wellbeing teams to remove barriers to learning.
• Provide initial wellbeing and pastoral support to students.
• Maintain accurate student records, case notes and engagement data.
• Participate in case management and intervention planning activities.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive school culture aligned with child safety principles.
