Job summary

HBT Group seeks a Technical Support Specialist to provide on-site support for underground mining equipment, auditing, repairing, and guiding customers on HBT technology. The role involves monitoring equipment performance, generating data-driven recommendations, and delivering hands-on training to longwall personnel.

Travel to customer mine sites is required, including extended nights away from home. Strong health, safety focus and autonomy are essential for success in this field-based position.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV and above qualifications are highly regarded.
• Trainer and assessor qualifications are highly regarded.
• Previous experience providing technical support for high-performance machinery.
• Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of HBT equipment is highly desirable.
• Coal board medical certification is highly desirable.
• Underground experience in the longwall mining environment.
• Strong focus on health and safety.
• Willingness to travel to customer mine sites, including extended nights away from home.
• Availability to support customers outside of business hours and work alternative shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support and maintenance for HBT equipment at customer sites.
• Audit, repair/replace components and guide customers on equipment use.
• Monitor equipment in production and provide performance data and recommendations.
• Lead RCA processes as required and coordinate materials for service activities.
• Deliver high-standard training to longwall personnel on HBT equipment operation and maintenance.
• Identify new sales opportunities and communicate them internally.
