Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking a proactive Project Engineer - Mechanical for the Snowy 2.0 project. The role is 100% on-site with a 14/7 FIFO roster, requiring a mechanical engineering degree and proven experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.

You will oversee installation, QA/QC, and commissioning activities, collaborate with site teams, and ensure safety and adherence to Employer Requirements and IFC drawings. Hydropower exposure is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering (eligibility for Engineers Australia membership).
Experience on large-scale civil, infrastructure, or heavy industrial projects; hydropower experience is advantageous.
Strong ability to navigate contract interfaces, review engineering documentation, and manage site QA/QC.

Responsibilities

Installation & Oversight: provide daily on-site assurance that Contractor meets Employer Requirements and IFC drawings.
Quality & Compliance: monitor witness points, review ITPs, and manage NCRs.
Site Coordination: maintain daily records, reports, and site photography across active fronts.
Technical Support: review Safety in Design studies and risk assessments; guide Site Engineers.
Commissioning: participate in commissioning reviews for safe handover between E/M and Civil packages.
