Job summary

Building Industry Training is seeking a full‑time Trainer and Assessor for the Certificate IV Building & Construction in the Toowoomba region. The role involves field visits, on-site training, and mentoring apprentices with a focus on practical and theoretical skills.

You must hold a relevant trade qualification, a current White Card and be prepared to obtain the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. A company vehicle and support for professional growth are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Hold a current qualification in the relevant trade.
• Hold or be prepared to immediately obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Hold current White Card.
• Hold current Blue Card.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and computers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Visa.
• Pass a National Police Check.
• Be physically able to conduct on-site training activities.
• Confident, calm and patient with an outgoing personality.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Work with apprentices/trainees to assist in improving skills and knowledge.
• Tutor apprentices from a range of practical and theoretical projects.
• Visit students on site and/or conduct group training at facilities as needed.
• Maintain currency of qualifications and assist in updating training materials.
• Be responsible for completing site visits, documenting training activities and assessments.
• Mentor students with practical training and support on a range of topics.
• Develop and assist in new training and assessment resources.
