Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action seeks a Project Officer to support Victoria’s offshore wind auction rollout. You will help integrate contracts, develop investment strategies, and prepare briefing materials and submissions for ministerial consideration.

The role engages with internal teams, external advisers and a broad range of stakeholders. The fixed-term position runs until 30 June 2028 with hybrid work arrangements at 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne.

Qualifications

• An appropriate tertiary qualification in public policy, project management, economics, engineering, law or science with a commercial policy focus.
• Knowledge of government processes, procurement rules and briefing materials is desirable.
• Understanding of the National Electricity Market and energy policy landscape is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of Victoria’s offshore wind auction and contract market integration.
• Develop investment strategies and documentation and interface with national mechanisms.
• Prepare policy advice, undertake research and analysis, and contribute to submissions and ministerial briefings.
