Job summary

Victorian Government is seeking a Project Director, Transaction to lead Victoria's first offshore wind auction. This fixed-term role, based in Melbourne with hybrid arrangements, reports to the Director, Investment and Sector Development and drives the transaction process from planning through delivery.

The role requires significant experience in major infrastructure transactions, strong leadership, stakeholder management, and sound commercial judgement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading major infrastructure transactions, procurements or commercial projects within government or industry.
• Strong project leadership skills with ability to manage large, multi-disciplinary programs with competing priorities and tight timeframes.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capability, including experience with senior executives and government decision-makers.
• Sound commercial judgement and a deep understanding of procurement, probity and governance requirements.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify risks early and navigate complexity.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement processes and HVHR framework will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the offshore wind auction transaction from inception to delivery, reporting to the Director, Investment and Sector Development.
• Coordinate cross-agency collaboration and manage multi-disciplinary teams to meet milestones.
• Engage with senior executives, industry partners and decision-makers to secure approvals and align on outcomes.
