Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action seeks a Project Officer to support Victoria’s offshore wind auction rollout. You will help integrate contracts, develop investment strategies, and prepare briefing materials and submissions for ministerial consideration.

The role engages with internal teams, external advisers and a broad range of stakeholders. The fixed-term position runs until 30 June 2028 with hybrid work arrangements at 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne.

Formación

• An appropriate tertiary qualification in public policy, project management, economics, engineering, law or science with a commercial policy focus.
• Knowledge of government processes, procurement rules and briefing materials is desirable.
• Understanding of the National Electricity Market and energy policy landscape is desirable.

The Project Officer contributes to the implementation of Victoria’s first offshore wind auction. This includes the successful market integration of the offshore wind auction contracts, including the development of investment strategies and documentation (including interface with the proposed new national Electricity Services Entry Mechanism (ESEM)). This role prepares robust policy advice, undertakes research and analysis, manages input from external advisers and contributes to submissions, ministerial briefings, and papers. The role involves collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, requiring the development of effective working relationships across the division, with other department groups, government departments and external stakeholders.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• An appropriate tertiary qualification(s) or equivalent experience in public policy, project management, economics, engineering, law, science, project delivery or energy related fields with a commercial policy focus is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience with government processes, procurement rules and preparation of briefing materials is desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge or experience of the National Electricity Market and the energy policy landscape is desirable.

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
