Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Brisbane is seeking an Ocean Freight Import Operations Supervisor to lead the Ocean Import Operations, Customer Operations, and Transport Operations teams at the Brisbane Station. You will drive productivity, service quality, and profitability while ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory obligations.

• Experience in International Freight Forwarding, specifically Ocean Freight operations.
• Proven leadership in managing operational teams.
• Experience in performance management, coaching, recruitment, and workforce planning.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial acumen driving productivity, service and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop teams across Ocean Import Operations, Customer Operations, and Transport Operations.
• Manage all people-related responsibilities: performance management, onboarding, training, employee engagement and development.
• Ensure all activities align with DHL SOPs, customer requirements, service commitments, and regulatory obligations.
• Drive productivity, service excellence, and gross profit across operations.
• Monitor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and quality.
• Act as escalation point for customer, supplier, network and operational issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for business growth, customer retention, and service enhancement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and DHL requirements.
