Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Tamworth region, with the flexibility to work near home across a mix of home visits, community settings and clinic spaces.

You will manage an allocated caseload, perform assessments, set goals and deliver evidence-based interventions to enhance participants’ independence and wellbeing, while complying with AHPRA and disability service requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with people with disability in community settings
• Strong collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent time management and organisational skills

Job Description

As our #AAA team continues to grow, we’re looking for an Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Tamworth region, depending on where you're based - work close to home!

In this role you will:

• Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
• Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA
• Passionate about community-based support for people with disability
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
• Time management & organisational skills to manage varied caseload
