Job summary

Sunnybank Private Hospital, part of Healthscope, is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to lead and develop the nursing team within a busy Rehabilitation unit in Brisbane. You will drive clinical governance, workforce planning and patient-centred care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You must hold current AHPRA registration, have NUM level experience in an acute setting, and demonstrate strong communication, time management, and leadership capabilities to advance towards a management

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA is required.
• Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
• Experience in the Acute setting is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication with leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing leadership within the Rehabilitation unit.
• Lead multidisciplinary team and coordinate patient care.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling and labour management.
• Ensure clinical governance and regulatory compliance.

Selection Criteria

• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
• Experience in the Acute setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A strong commitment to developing in a management role
• A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customerfocused care
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment and develop partnerships with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs)
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
• Demonstrated HR management experience
• Leadership and management qualification (or working towards)
