Nominated Supervisor: OSCH Cairns, QLD $90k-$105k

This OSCH Nominated Supervisor job opportunity based in Cairns positively contributes to a vibrant school community, with a commitment to high-quality care. Ideal applicants will bring people management from regulated sectors or compliance-based industry sectors and business management, or a compliance-based coordination or operations coordination experience into this OSCH Nominated Supervisor position. This role could be offered on a permanent Full Time basis OR Permanent Part-Time basis (min 24 hours per week). Some flexibility regarding hours may be required from time to time to meet the centres operational needs.

The Opportunity: OSCH Nominated Supervisor

This OSCH Nominated Supervisor role plays a vital part of ensuring the smooth, professional operation of the OSHC Service that operates from 7am-6pm, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility regarding start and finish times on a rostered basis will be required, however hours are negotiable for the successful candidate. We are seeking a combination of people leadership and business acumen to support a team of educators to uphold a high standard of care and supervision, whilst bringing approved learning frameworks through the OSCH centres programs that children enjoy and benefit from.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Nominated Supervisor will also be accountable to the P&C Committee, and hold responsibility to manage Education Leaders and Education Team to deliver safe, fun, meaningful and educational experiences for children, in line with National Laws and Legislation. (Ideal applicant with be familiar with National Education and Care Service Laws and Regulations, along with an ability to uphold ECA Code of Ethics and maintain licensing and operational standard to a high level).

Interested applicants from outside the education sector may be considered, that demonstrate similar position that has involved upholding legislative requirements. Note: Applicants form outside of the education sector must be willing to obtain and maintain necessary qualifications during their employment in the Nominated Supervisor position:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or similar qualification) or working towards attainment
• Certificate – CPR (HLTAID009) (or willing to attain)
• Certificate - First Aid in an Education Setting (HLTAID012) (or willing to attain)
• Child Protection (Geccko) Certificate or ability to obtain
• Full and Unrestricted Australian Work Rights

To be considered and succeed in this OSCH Nominated Supervisor position, applications should demonstrate

• Strongpeople and team leadership, along with a strong grasp of financial, business acumen and decision making from a highly regulated or compliance-based environmentsuch as education, legal or community services is ideal;
• Experienced with rostering, mentoring, and building positive, supportive and professional team cultures that enhances program quality;
• Team Leader or Senior level experience overseeing administrative and financial processes including attendance records, enrolment communication, CCS submissions, and follow up of outstanding accountsto ensure smooth, accurate and timely operations;
• Ability to building strong relationships with children and families, develop an understanding of their needs, support their wellbeing, and ensuring programs reflect interests and developmental goals.

About You

Compliance based Service manager from a highly regulated industry or compliance-based environment or Business Manager, Supervisory or Management experience along with

A confident manager to guide, mentor and support educators while fostering a positive, collaborative and professional team culture;

Experience from compliance-based Coordination or Management role from regulated industries where adhering to laws, legislation and strict workplace policies and procedures;

An organised, detail driven individual that demonstrates excellent time management, accuracy in administrative tasks, and the ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities smoothly;

Clear communicator with well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to resolve conflict respectfully and professionally;

Knowledgeable or willingness to understand Education and Care Services Laws, Regulations and the National Quality Standard or the ability and motivation to learn quickly and apply them confidently - essential

Genuine interest in the development of primary aged students and a passion for creating inclusive, engaging and meaningful experiences

Confident with Microsoft Office and open to learning new digital platforms that support teaching, documentation and communication.
