Job summary

Hyatt Place Melbourne Essendon Fields is seeking an experienced Night Supervisor to oversee overnight operations, reconcile guest accounts, and ensure top-quality service. You will handle guest check-ins/outs, maintain Hyatt standards, and support across departments in a fast-paced overnight environment.

The role requires at least 2 years in a Night Supervisor or similar role, proficiency in OPERA Cloud, and a valid Victorian driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Hospitality is an advantage.
• Full Victorian Driver's Licence is a must.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as Night Supervisor or similar.
• Experience with OPERA Cloud is essential.
• Strong numerical, analytical and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly audit procedures to reconcile transactions and guest accounts.
• Generate and review financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist across Rooms and F&B departments and handle night inquiries.
• Manage guest check-ins/check-outs and uphold Hyatt standards overnight.
• Monitor security and safety protocols and respond to guest requests.
• Support front office duties and coordinate guest and crew transportation.
• Work with Night Manager three days a week and independently two days.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Night Supervisor to join our team at Hyatt Place Essendon Fields in the vibrant Essendon Fields area. As a Night Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel during the overnight hours. Your primary focus will be on managing guest accounts and providing exceptional customer service to our guests and uphold Hyatt brand standards during the overnight shift.

What you'll be doing

• Performing nightly audit procedures to reconcile financial transactions and guest accounts
• Generating and reviewing various financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Remain flexible and adaptable, assisting across hotel departments including Rooms and Food & Beverage
• Handling guest check-ins, check-outs, and resolving any inquiries or issues that may arise during the night whilst upholding Hyatt Brand Standards
• Monitoring and maintaining hotel security and safety protocols
• Assisting with other front office duties as needed, such as answering phones and responding to guest requests
• Providing a high level of customer service to all guests throughout the night
• Assist with guest and crew transportation arrangements
• Work alongside our Night Manager for 3 days a week and 2 days independently

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Hospitality is an advantage
• Full Victorian Driver's License a must

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Night Supervisor or similar role in the hospitality industry
• Previous experience using OPERA Cloud (essential).
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to accurately reconcile financial records
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve issues effectively
• Proficient in the use of hotel management software and technology
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work independently during overnight shifts
• A team player with a positive and proactive attitude
