Job summary

Hyatt Place Melbourne Essendon Fields is seeking an experienced Assistant Night Manager to oversee overnight operations, guest accounts, and service delivery. You will support the Night Manager and ensure Hyatt brand standards are upheld throughout the night.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of Night Supervisor experience, strong numerical skills, and proficiency with hotel management software. A Victorian driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Night Supervisor or similar role in hospitality.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills for reconciling financial records.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to handle inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly audit procedures to reconcile financial transactions and guest accounts.
• Generate and review financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist across hotel departments including Rooms and F&B.
• Handle guest check-ins/outs and inquiries during the night while upholding Hyatt standards.
• Monitor security and safety protocols during overnight shifts.
• Assist with front office tasks such as answering phones and guest requests.
• Support guest and crew transportation arrangements.
• Work with Night Manager 3 days a week and 2 days independently.

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Night Manager to join our team at Hyatt Place Essendon Fields in the vibrant Essendon Fields area. As an Assistant Night Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel during the overnight hours. Your primary focus will be on managing guest accounts and providing exceptional customer service to our guests and uphold Hyatt brand standards during the overnight shift.

What you'll be doing

• Performing nightly audit procedures to reconcile financial transactions and guest accounts
• Generating and reviewing various financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Remain flexible and adaptable, assisting across hotel departments including Rooms and Food & Beverage
• Handling guest check-ins, check-outs, and resolving any inquiries or issues that may arise during the night whilst upholding Hyatt Brand Standards
• Monitoring and maintaining hotel security and safety protocols
• Assisting with other front office duties as needed, such as answering phones and responding to guest requests
• Providing a high level of customer service to all guests throughout the night
• Assist with guest and crew transportation arrangements.
• Work alongside our Night Manager for 3 days a week and 2 days independently

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Night Supervisor or similar role in the hospitality industry
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to accurately reconcile financial records
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve issues effectively
• Proficient in the use of hotel management software and technology
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work independently during overnight shifts
• A team player with a positive and proactive attitude

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Hospitality is an advantage
• Full Victorian Driver’s License a must
