Job summary

GT Recycling is seeking an Extruder Operator to run extrusion equipment for recycled plastic pellets in a full-time night-shift role. You will monitor equipment, adjust process settings and maintain production records in a safety- and quality-conscious environment.

The position emphasizes strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to troubleshoot and work independently with occasional forklift duties. Training and career development opportunities are available within a long-standing family business.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating extrusion or similar manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret and adjust process settings.
• Demonstrated focus on workplace safety and following procedures.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently on night shift.
• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
• Experience in plastics, recycling or manufacturing environments (advantage).

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion equipment and monitor performance to ensure quality.
• Set and manage parameters such as temperature, pressure and feed rate.
• Perform routine checks, cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Record production data and support shift handovers.
• Maintain safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Keep work area clean around the extruder.
