Job summary

GT Recycling is a family-owned plastics recycler recruiting an Extruder Operator for the night shift at our Geelong facility. You will operate and maintain extrusion equipment producing recycled plastic pellets, with a focus on safety and quality in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and adjust extrusion equipment to ensure product quality.
• Set and manage process parameters including temperature, pressure and feed rates.
• Conduct routine checks, cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate faults as needed.
• Maintain production records and contribute to shift handovers.
• Uphold safety, quality and environmental standards.

The team is dedicated to waste-minimisation, landfill diversion and producing high-quality recycled plastic products that support a more sustainable future for industry and the environment.

With continued growth across their Geelong facility, GT Recycling is expanding their production capability and now seeking dedicated Extruder Operators to join the night-shift team.

About the Role

As an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion equipment used in the production of recycled plastic pellets. This role suits someone mechanically minded, safety-focused, and confident working with industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and adjust extrusion equipment to ensure consistent product quality
• Set and manage process parameters including temperature, pressure and feed rates
• Conduct routine machine checks, cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
• Troubleshoot operational issues and elevate technical faults where required
• Maintain accurate production records and contribute to thorough shift handovers
• Uphold safety, quality and environmental standards at all times
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation around the extruder and production floor

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience operating extrusion or similar manufacturing equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret and adjust process settings
• Demonstrated focus on workplace safety and following procedures
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently on night shift
• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
• Experience in plastics, recycling or manufacturing environments (advantage)
• Full-time, ongoing night-shift role
• Stable hours Monday-Friday
