Job summary

Night Shift Process Technician | Plastics Manufacturing role in Melbourne for a well‑established plastics producer. Join a hands‑on, technically minded team on a night shift (10pm–6am) with ongoing casual contract and strong potential for permanency.

You will monitor machinery, perform set‑ups/changeovers, troubleshoot issues and collaborate with maintenance to minimise downtime while maintaining product quality and production targets.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification, engineering studies, or relevant manufacturing experience highly regarded.
• Experience in plastics, extrusion, blow moulding, injection moulding, packaging, FMCG, pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environments
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience performing machine changeovers and adjustments
• Forklift licence preferred
• Reliable and committed to working permanent night shift

Responsibilities

• Monitor machinery throughout the shift to ensure smooth, continuous operation.
• Identify early signs of mechanical issues and take corrective action to minimise downtime.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and meet production targets.
• Perform full set-ups and changeovers of dies, moulds, and associated equipment according to production requirements.
• Dismantle machinery components safely and efficiently for cleaning, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
• Diagnose mechanical or process issues and implement solutions to restore optimal performance.
• Work closely with maintenance teams when escalated repairs are required.
• Conduct thorough cleaning of production equipment, ensuring all components are free from contamination.

• Shift: Night shift, 10pm–6am
• Days: Monday night to Saturday morning
