Job summary

Autech Rail Australia Pty Ltd – Melbourne VIC is seeking personnel for night work across Melbourne's rail networks. The role focuses on specialist rail maintenance, including profile and rail grinding, machine operation, preventative maintenance, and operational reporting.

Training will be provided on Autech's specialised rail maintenance equipment and systems. The position requires hands-on operation of machinery, attention to safety, and the ability to work with a small team to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery or mobile plant or similar mechanical equipment.
• Ability to follow operating procedures and perform basic fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Profile and rail grinding operations.
• Set up and operate specialised machinery and equipment.
• Conduct daily machine inspections and pre-start checks.
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Identify mechanical faults and undertake basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with equipment preparation, servicing and repairs.
• Complete accurate end-of-shift reporting and operational documentation.
• Maintain safe working practices in operational rail environments.
• Work collaboratively with other operators and project personnel.
