Job summary

Touchstone's Here For You Wakefield Volunteer Centre seeks a Crisis Support Practitioner for overnight shifts (10:00pm–6:00am), 28 hours weekly, fixed term to 31 March 2028. You will deliver non-clinical crisis support, help maintain a 24/7 service, and collaborate with emergency services when required.

The role requires extensive experience supporting people in distress and a commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive care for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of supporting people experiencing emotional distress, including those at risk of suicide or self-harm.
• Commitment to accessible and culturally responsive support to people from diverse communities, including Black and Minority Ethnic and LGBTQ+ communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide nightly crisis support and non-clinical assistance to individuals in distress.
• Work within a 10:00pm–6:00am shift pattern on a rolling 4 nights on/4 nights off schedule.
• Contribute to a 24/7 crisis support model and liaise with emergency services as needed.
