Job summary

JRC Meat Pty Ltd is seeking a Night Chef/Cook for casual hours, 6:00pm–11:00pm, Monday to Friday, in Cannon Hill QLD 4170. Responsibilities include preparing high-quality meals and maintaining culinary standards during night service.

Role is non-consumer facing and requires the ability to work efficiently unsupervised in a fast-paced hospitality setting. We offer casual employment with flexible shift arrangements and opportunities to develop culinary skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef in hospitality or food service environment.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods and culinary best practices.
• Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene in commercial kitchens.
• Ability to work efficiently unsupervised.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, standards and presentation requirements.
• Production and assembly.
• Maintain food quality, portion control and consistency during night shifts.
• Ensure all food is prepared and stored in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ingredient requirements to management.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and ingredients.
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Adapt to menu changes and special requests from guests or management.
• Support team members and maintain positive working relationships in the kitchen.

Job description

JRC Meat Pty Ltd is seeking a Night Chef/Cook to join our team on a casual basis. This role is from 6:00pm - 11:00pm Monday - Friday. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment during evening and night shifts. Based in Cannon Hill QLD 4170, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and maintaining exceptional culinary standards during night service hours. This role is non consumer facing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes, standards and presentation requirements
• Production and assembly
• Maintain food quality, portion control and consistency across all meals prepared during night shifts
• Ensure all food is prepared and stored in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ingredient requirements to management
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of equipment and ingredients
• Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment
• Adapt to menu changes and special requests from guests or management
• Support team members and maintain positive working relationships within the kitchen

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a chef in a hospitality or food service environment
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary best practices
• Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene requirements in commercial kitchens
• Ability to work efficiently unsupervised
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Physical capability to work standing for extended periods and lift heavy items safely
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility and willingness to work evening and night shifts consistently
• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are highly desirable
• Experience in a similar casual or part-time capacity would be advantageous
