The agency works to an established project management framework and places a strong emphasis on governance, quality and stakeholder partnership.

About the role

As Project Manager, you will plan and lead the delivery of complex ICT projects, some with organisation‑wide impact, working under the broad direction of senior staff. You will own projects end to end, from design and planning through to implementation and evaluation, while managing budgets, risks and stakeholder expectations. • Develop and maintain Project Management Plans, schedules, status reports and exception reports, and prepare business cases and executive briefs.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure and oversee related procurement and contract management.
  • Identify, assess, elevate and treat project risks and issues, and track the realisation of project benefits.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and lead, coach and manage the performance of project staff.

Requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex ICT projects, ideally within government or a large enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience managing a project budget, including monitoring expenditure and reporting against it.
  • Strong written communication skills, with a track record of producing Project Management Plans, status reports and schedules.
  • Experience engaging and managing internal and external stakeholders, from frontline staff through to executive level.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or higher is essential and must be held at the time of application.
  • You must be based in Canberra, as regular onsite attendance is required.
