Job summary

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL) is hiring a Network Services Officer to support reliable network and telephony services across schools and offices. You will install, configure, monitor, and maintain infrastructure, participate in SD-WAN upgrades, and help embed secure configurations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Cyber Security team, incident response, and ongoing service improvements within CACGEL’s evolving environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in information technology and/or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with enterprise network technologies including Aruba networking, SD-WAN and Fortinet FortiGate.
• Experience providing Level 2 or 3 support across geographically dispersed environments, preferably in education.
• WWVP and WWCC clearance required prior to commencement.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and support CACGEL’s network infrastructure and services, including switching, wireless, firewalls, SD-WAN, and telephony.
• Monitor network availability and performance, respond to incidents, and escalate issues to specialists.
• Implement network security controls and assist with vulnerability management.
• Contribute to network modernisation, upgrades, migrations, testing, and service improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with ICT Operations colleagues.
